What Does a Medic Runner Do?
Medic Runners are volunteer runners with accredited medical training deployed in the running field. You will run at assigned paces to provide proactive surveillance and immediate first aid.
Active Surveillance & Safety Pacing
Run alongside participants in assigned pacing groups, keeping a vigilant eye out for signs of distress, extreme exhaustion, or heat illness.
Immediate First Response
Provide on-the-spot aid for acute muscle cramps, minor abrasions, sprains, and dehydration before stationary medical teams arrive.
CPR & Emergency Resuscitation
Immediately initiate CPR/BLS in the event of a collapsed runner, deploy nearby mobile AED responders, and coordinate with race medical control.
Runner Encouragement & Safe Guidance
Act as a safety ambassador on the route, uplifting runners while advising those displaying concerning symptoms to seek medical attention.

We welcome licensed medical professionals as well as certified first aiders who possess active resuscitation qualifications and strong running fitness.
